The Cite Minder System

Cite Minder is a revolutionary new type of citation software. Unlike other citation databases that arrive empty and require you to fill them in, Cite Minder is a fully populated database.

The Cite Minder Scholar Edition ($99.99) is a collection of 10 years of citation data (1999-2009) collected from 31 journals (over 2,800 citations!). When you purchase Cite Minder, you will have immediate access to a digital download of the Macintosh (OS X) or Windows (XP, Vista, Windows 7) software. As soon as it is installed on your computer, you’ll have fingertip access to the special education research and practice knowledge base; knowledge that is not available outside of large research libraries or found online. The simple search tool will allow you to search by author, year, title keyword, or journal name.

Always Up To Date

We do all the hard work of browsing the contents of 31 journals, as they as they are published, to locate important new works that you need to know about. As we browse every article in each issue, we ask the question: Is this article important for professionals interested in special education technology research, practice, or leadership? If yes, we capture the article for analysis. Then, back in our offices, we read each article, create a citation, and add extensive meta-tags based on our analysis. All of this information then goes into our Cite Minder database.

The Always Up To Date feature of Cite Minder is an annual subscription service ($49.99) that ensures that your software is always current. Each month, we prepare a content update for Cite Minder. Whenever, you use Cite Minder, the software will automatically check our servers (if you are online) to see if an update is available. If so, the software will ask you if you would like to download the latest citations into your software. You can search for 2010 citations or browse the latest additions within the Update folder. Always Up to Date subscriptions cover a 12-month period and provide full meta-data for each of the latest citations.

Citation Bases

Purchasing Citation Bases allows Cite Minder users to build a personal library covering the years that they find most relevant and affordable. Citation Bases provide complete meta-data for each citation for a specific year. With meta-data tags added to each citation you will be able to use powerful search tools to search for relevant articles by topic, grade level, subject area, or technology. Research meta-tags allow you to locate specific studies based on methodology, sample size, data analysis procedures, and more. Powerful Cite Minder search tools will save you hours of time as you search, browse, and explore to locate just the items you are interested in.
